Musical Collaboration Builds Unity from Diversity
Presented for the Band Division at the 2022 TMEA convention in San Antonio, the session focused on methods to build unity and collaboration in today’s classrooms. July 2022- International Summer Music Institute
UNT Denton Campus International Summer Music Institute strings, winds, and piano Session 1: July 17-24, 2022 and/or Session 2: July 24-31, 2022 Faculty Concerts for International Summer Music Institute July 21, 2022 ISMI/Voertman Hall, 7:30 p.m. Nicolai Kapustin Trio for Flute/Cello/Piano, featuring Mary Karen Clardy, Gal Faganel, Steven Harlos Jacques Ibert, Trois Pièces Brève, featuring Mary Karen Clardy, Jung Choi, Kimberly Cole-Luevano, Darrel Hale, and Stacie Mickens July 28, 2022 ISMI/Voertman Hall, 7:30 p.m. Mel Bonis, Sérénade,Trio for Flute/Violin/Piano, featuring Mary Karen Clardy, Felix Olschofka, Steven Harlos Private lessons, chamber music, chamber orchestra, concerto competition, master classes, and concerts are the focus of this workshop for string players (violin, viola, cello, double bass,) winds (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, French horn) and piano students. UNT's internationally acclaimed string, woodwind and piano faculty and esteemed guest artists will share their knowledge and expertise with our students. Students can choose whether to attend one session or stay for both. A concerto competition for all instruments takes place during each session. Junior and Senior Division First-Prize Winners will perform with the orchestra in a gala concert. We offer a truly unique experience with three private lessons in seven days our participants benefit from an intense and nurturing learning environment. Pre-college and collegiate sessions are offered to all ages, with most participants ranging in age from 10-25. All events are on-campus at UNT within a five-minute walk of the dormitories and cafeterias. Partial scholarships are available. Join us for a truly superb and unique musical experience in the wonderful environment of the UNT College of Music with its great facilities in the heart of North Texas and the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
